Sailing Skills assessments

Well done to all who have completed stage4 sailing skills, keep it.
Some of you have not received a log book yet, the log book is based on the >> Adventure Skills Sailing
have a look at them so you can get going looking stuff up before you get your logbook.
We’re hoping to get everyone to stage4 and some to stage5.

I’ll post some of the stuff you need to learn here, others you’ll need to look up yourself.

Overnight Hike Apr-2023 Information

Brief Details….
Meeting
Saturday 1st;

Time:  09:45 Location: Glenflesk, ‘Top Oil’ Petrol Station, Eircode V93 A26D

  • We will meet up here and continue in convoy to the starting point for the hike.

Directions to drop off point on Saturday morning:

  • Distance: 111 Km
  • Time: 1 hr 30 min (according to AA)
  • Head towards Killarney N40/N22
  • Meet at petrol station in village
  • Continue in convoy to the starting point for the hike (approx. 10 km)

Scout Autumn camp 2019

Scouts are going on a weekend camp Fri. Oct. 18th – Sun. Oct. 20th.

Location: Burcourt Scout Campsite, Shanbally Co. Tipperary

Provisional (subject to change) Times:
Dropoff at Burncourt: 7:00pm Friday
Pickup at Burncourt: 2:00pm Sunday

Car pooling is encouraged where possible.

Scout Annual Camp 2019

Times & Dates:

Saturday 13th

Watch leader + assistant from each camp watch must come to the boat yard at 9:00am to check & prepare watch equipment. This should take less than an hour.
Friday 19th

Trailers are being packed for travel on Friday evening, 7:30pm to 9:00pm. Scouts may deposit their bag containing water activity gear for transport to camp.

Saturday 20th  

All scouts to meet at Cork Kent Station at 8:45am. We will be travelling by train to the campsite so a car pool to Kent Station will be needed. Scouts should bring a packed lunch for arrival at the site.

Saturday 27th

We will be departing the campsite at TBD and will arrive at Cork Kent Station is 7:25pm. All scouts should then travel to the boatyard for unloading and storing of the equipment.
